About Me
I am Weiyin Chen, an experimental material scientist and chemist.
I earned my Ph.D. in Chemistry from Rice University, where I conducted research under the supervision of Prof. James Tour. My work focused on developing an ultrafast electrothermal method to synthesize energy materials and address battery recycling challenges, as well as exploring interfacial protection strategies for batteries.
Currently, I work as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Ju Li’s group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My research combines machine learning, high-throughput experimentation, and in operando electrochemistry to design and optimize liquid electrolytes for batteries.
I am actively pursuing an academic career and preparing for the next steps.
